Changing Lives Through Sport

Epic Sports Project Charitable Trust

Why We Do It

The Epic Sports Project Canterbury Charitable Trust exists to support tamariki and rangatahi in high-deprivation communities—using sport and hip-hop as powerful tools for connection, confidence, and self-worth.

We believe every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and inspired. And we’re committed to making that happen—one session at a time.

Many young people in Canterbury face challenges that limit their access to structured sport, positive role models, and safe spaces to grow.

Through free, community-based sport and dance sessions, we provide consistent opportunities to build belonging, resilience, and belief in what’s possible.

How EpicXcel Makes It Possible

Our trust is funded through the elite coaching arm of our organisation—EpicXcel.

Every session booked through EpicXcel helps fund free community programmes. That means athletes training for high performance are also helping create opportunities for others.

We are so grateful to every participant of the EpicXcel Elite Coaching - each and every one contributes to the Epic Sports Project.
